In response to the deepwater horizon accident in 2010 on a BP platform in the Gulf of Mexico, Rebellion Consulting were engaged by Shell Oil & Gas (Formerly BG Group) to manage design and delivery of Asset Integrity, HSSE scorecards and finance dashboards alongside McKinsey & Company for BG Group CFO & CRO.
BG Group's wanted to leverage the key health and safety metrics, well performance, depth, pressure etc. data that they were capturing on each rig/ facility and use it to create a global scorecard across all of their operations and use it as an early warning system to prevent similar accidents to those suffered by BP, the scorecard scored each facility and rated its risk to enable interventions to be made and improve the health and safety culture at the Reading based firm.
This involved Rebellion leading a team to reverse engineer the health and safety management tool and accounting system and then design and build a new reporting data warehouse, full suite of reports and scorecards, which were then used to great impact in the monthly board meetings from 2010 onwards.
Ultimately the ongoing maintenance and support was transitioned to a 3rd party off-shore vendor to continue to support in 2012.

Rebellion Consulting were also engaged to co-establish a technical design authority and assurance function across main 3rd party delivery partners (Accenture, Wipro, Infosys & IBM).and internal IT resources. This was created to ensure design integrity and key principles were followed in all technical deliveries and that consistency and quality of standards was able to be maintained across multiple partners.
